Eye Cream

What is eye cream?

The term eye cream can be a bit confusing because an eye cream is not applied on your eye. You should never do that. Eye cream or eye balm is applied on the delicate skin directly under your eyes and at your cheekbones.

What does eye cream do?

Eye cream is primarily an anti aging product that is being used to reduce dark circles, bags, and crow’s feet. The delicate skin under your eyes needs a lot of hydration and ingredients that help to keep the skin firm and supple.

The elasticity of your skin gets less over the years because your skin does not make enough collagen anymore. An eye cream helps to make your skin firmer and to nourish it. That way dark circles and bags under your eyes will get diminished.

Crow’s feet will also get less deep when frequently using an eye cream. It takes about 14 days before you can properly see the first results. You will look better rested and fine lines will become less visible.

When should you use an eye cream?

It does feel a bit strange, but it could prove useful to start using an eye cream when you are about 35 years old. From that moment onward the muscles will become weaker, and your skin will start to look older.

To look young and fresh on a later age, you will have to start early on using a good eye cream. That works the same for all anti aging products and eye cream is no different.

Regarding timing it is best to apply an eye cream in the evening, same as with anti aging creams. That way the product has whole night long to nourish and hydrate your delicate skin with important nutrients. You will wake up with a hydrated and more supple skin. Dark circles and bags under your eyes will be less visible as well, especially over time.

How to apply eye cream?

You apply an eye cream with your ring finger. Dip your ring finger in the jar and pat some cream on the skin under your eyes and at your cheekbones to treat those crow’s feet. Do not rub the cream, but just pat it slowly on your delicate skin until absorbed.

Why can't you put eye cream on eyelids?

Never apply an eye cream on your eyelids. That is not what it is for, and your eyelids will absorb it and then it can come in contact with your actual eye. That can cause irritation, so make sure the eye cream never comes in contact with your eyes or eyelids.
