After the Second World War, the brand experienced significant growth, and in the years that followed, Dovo acquired many companies. For example, the renowned shaving brand Merkur is part of Dovo Solingen.

Dovo is, therefore, a company with a rich history and an extensive portfolio of well-known shaving brands. Germany is famous for its many high-quality shaving brands due to the superior steel production in the country.

Since the 1970s, the brand has been known as Dovo Solingen. It strikes a fine balance between tradition and keeping up with modern times.  

Dovo and Moquer

Moquer added Dovo to its range in 2024 to expand its selection of razors with the renowned Dovo Shavettes. This type of razor was not previously available in the Moquer shop, and Dovo is the leading authority in the field of shavettes.

Moquer was already offering Merkur safety razors, so it was a logical step to include other products from Dovo, the parent company.

Dovo Shavette

Dovo has an extensive range of shaving products, but they are best known for their shavettes. In fact, they are the brand that coined the term for this type of razor.

The beauty of a Dovo shavette is that it’s a straight razor where you can choose your own blade. This allows you to select the sharpness of your Dovo Shavette to create a personalised shaving routine.

In addition to their functionality, Dovo shavettes are beautifully crafted products with wooden handles or entirely made of aluminium. Examples include the Dovo Shavette Olive Wood and the Dovo Shavette Aluminium.
