Night cream for men

In a good anti-ageing routine, you use both a day cream and a night cream. Both are examples of an anti-ageing cream to make your skin look younger.

It is therefore a good product to use on older or more mature skin, as these skin types often have more wrinkles, fine lines, crow’s feet or pigmentation spots. But prevention is better than cure, so ideally you start using a good night cream around the age of thirty.

Why use a night cream?

You may have heard of a moisturiser, but that product only provides hydration and in most cases has no anti-ageing properties. A night cream does have these and is a slightly thicker product to provide more nourishment for your skin compared to a day cream.

A night cream contains various ingredients to plump up your skin and improve its elasticity. Older or more mature skin loses collagen, making wrinkles and fine lines more visible.

Examples of important ingredients in a night cream are vitamin E, vitamin B5, vitamin B3, hyaluronic acid and various natural oils and butters. A night cream is really intended to deeply nourish your skin with important nutrients to make your skin fuller. Throughout the night your skin is hydrated with healthy ingredients.

What does a night cream do?

Besides nourishing your skin, a night cream also ensures that your skin looks fuller and younger. Pigmentation spots and a dull complexion will become less visible. An anti-wrinkle cream only addresses wrinkles, but a night cream has a more complete anti-ageing approach.

If you start using a night cream in time, you can keep your skin supple and youthful for longer so that fine lines and wrinkles appear less quickly. Of course, it is also important to stay out of the sun as much as possible and to always apply sunscreen properly. Excessive alcohol consumption and smoking obviously do not help either.

When to use a night cream?

The name says it all, you use a night cream in the evening. A day cream is lighter than a night cream since you are walking around with it all day, but a night cream is slightly thicker because it has the whole night to deliver important nutrients to your skin. At night your skin is also not exposed to environmental factors such as sunlight, wind, exhaust fumes, dirt and the like.

Apply a night cream after cleansing your face. You can also ideally combine a night cream with a good serum for an optimal anti-ageing face care regimen for a younger-looking skin.
